Dr Fatima Eltinay – Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire

Dr Fatima Eltinay is a dedicated public servant and healthcare professional with a strong commitment to community wellbeing and safety.

Passionate about education, women’s health, and social inclusion, Dr Eltinay brings a holistic understanding of governance, leadership and community engagement, while representing the diverse voices of residents across Derbyshire.

Dr Eltinay is the Chair of Derbyshire Neighbourhood Watch, with over 33,000 volunteers across 883 schemes, this valuable platform supports and strengthens local communities through crime prevention and public awareness initiatives.

Having a clinical background in anaesthetics, intensive care, and medical education, Dr Eltinay has worked extensively within both the NHS and private sector. Her background in health is invaluable in supporting the PCC’s priority on tackling drug dealing and substance misuse, helping to look at the causes, influences and drivers of crime linked to this area.

With a knowledge of mental health from a clinical perspective, Dr Eltinay also brings a deep understanding of trauma, emotional wellbeing, and psychological resilience – skills that are invaluable in learning how we can better understand and support victims of crime and individuals navigating the criminal justice system.

She will lead on delivering against the PCC’s priority to tackle Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) by building trust in policing, championing education and initiatives around VAWG, and increasing awareness and access to victim support and aftercare services.
