Partnership Information

11 October 2021

The Commissioner will be working closely with partners for a multi-agency approach to reducing crime and community safety issues. This reflects improvements already seen when the police work together with local partners and specialists in different areas.

Working with key partners helps to protect victims and vulnerable people by, for example, tackling anti-social behaviour and also providing prolific criminals with the support they need to turn their backs on crime.

Organisations that help achieve these goals include:

  • Community Safety Partnerships
  • Victim Support Groups
  • Health and Wellbeing Board
  • Local Criminal Justice Board
  • Children and Adult Safeguarding Boards

Other valued partners include a range of voluntary, community, emergency and enterprise sector organisations.

As of November 2012, legislation decrees that agencies with statutory membership of the Community Safety Partnerships are the Police and Fire Services, Local Authorities, and Probation and Health Services.
