There are many different volunteering opportunities available through the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner. All rewarding and providing an invaluable service to the residents of Derbyshire.

Independent Custody Visiting Volunteer Scheme

Independent Custody Visiting is to provide assurance to local communities about how those in the custody of the police are being treated. Read more about the scheme.

Custody Detention Scrutiny Panel

The Police and Crime Commissioner has devised a new scrutiny group, the Custody Detention Scrutiny Panels (CDSPs) which is made up of a group of local people who reside across the County, to represent local communities in conversations with police officers and staff involved in the detention and custody environments. Stop and Search Volunteer Scheme

The Commissioner’s Stop and Search Scrutiny Panel is made up of staff from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, Police representatives and volunteers.  The panel is held to ensure fairness and equality to everyone who is stopped and searched by an officer. Read more about the scheme.

Animal Welfare Scheme

Animal Welfare Scheme volunteers are members of the local community who observe, comment and report on the conditions in which the Constabulary’s dogs are housed, trained and transported. Read more about the scheme.
