Listen Now: Police Commissioner discusses new Stalking Co-ordinator role

3 February 2022

Following my budget announcement for Derbyshire Policing, I was on BBC Radio Derby to discuss how a new dedicated stalking co-ordinator role will support victims of stalking. This is part of a plan to help tackle violence against women and girls. which Derbyshire Police have put together over the past year.

The co-ordinator will work closer with partners and officers to prevent these offences, increase powers to tackle repeat offenders and to offer the best support to victims of these crimes.

I have also set out how we will:

  • Recruit a further 100 officers this year
  • Increase training for all officers
  • Reduce 101 and 999 call waiting times
  • Continue to drive efficiencies across Derbyshire Constabulary

You can listen to the interview here. (The interview starts at 1hour 14mins 10 secs)
