Anti-social Behaviour Prevention Grant

This grant fund closed on 24th September 2021. 


Each Grant applicant goes through a rigorous due diligence process before the Commissioning Team considers the application. Once the due diligence process has been completed the Commissioning Team judges the application on various fields such as:

  • Summary of proposed project
  • Evidence of need for the project
  • Who will benefit and how the grant will secure, or continue to secure, crime and disorder reduction
  • Evidence of Partnership
  • Track Record of Delivery
  • Exit Strategy
  • Added Value
  • Additional Information
  • Breakdown and Justification of Costs

Once the Commissioning Team has judged the application they will make a recommendation to the Police and Crime Commissioner and their Senior Leadership Team where a decision is then reached.

 Successful Grant Recipients

Name: Go Wild in Wirksworth CIC – The Campfire Club
Duration of Grant: 6 months
Funded: £5,000.00

  • To provide a Youth Club for the young people of Wirksworth. Held weekly on a Saturday morning from 10.00am to 1.00 pm to run for six months.
  • The weekly youth club for young people in an outdoor environment will provide activities designed to reduce antisocial behaviour.
  • Activities will follow the Forest School enrichment curriculum, Ecology, Arts and Crafts, Bushcraft, Campfire Cooking and Games.
  • The club will have a committee and constitution voted for by the members. Members will discuss anti-social behaviour and decide on club events.
  • Young people will be able to request one to one help and advice sessions.

Name: Inspire Fitness Academy – Community tackling local gangs project
Duration of Grant: 12 months
Funded: £5,000.00

  • Provide boxing and fitness sessions for all age groups – activities for children, young people, and adults, including disabilities, additional needs/SEN.
  • Attendance at sessions and involvement with the club will reduce the number of people hanging out on the streets and therefore reduce the levels of vandalism, ASB and gang activity.
  • The sessions will improve physical and mental health, increase the sense of belonging and community inclusion and provide pathways for children and young people to avoid the criminal justice system.
  • The community will feel safer in their area and have a stronger sense of community cohesion and belonging.
    • Within 1 month 15 people enrolled.
    • Within 2 months 25 people enrolled.
    • Within 6 months 60+ people enrolled.
    • Within 7 months positive changes in the area in reduction of levels of gangs/, instances of ASB Within 1 year 100+ people dedicated to coming to the club, not hanging out on the streets, with positive pathways for their future, permanent reduction in gangs, ASB.

Name: Ironville and Codnor Park Community Association – Provision of Youth Club facilities
Duration of Grant: 12 months
Funded: £5,000.00

  • To continue the provision of much needed youth club facility at the Railway Carriage Youth Club (otherwise referred to as “The Train”) in the village of Ironville – a location designated as a “deprived area”.
  • To deliver a programme of varied activities and facilitate conversations and discussions on education, community, health and well being.

Name: Mind Body & Sole – The Hangout Club
Duration of Grant: 12 months
Funded: £4,976.00

  • To provide a youth group in Gamesley 2 nights per week for children and young people aged 7 -17.
  • To provide various indoor & outdoor activities including sport, music, dance etc.
  • To run for a period of 12 months with initial taster sessions twice a week in order to engage with young people and offer a choice of activities. The most popular to then be continued on a regular basis. Sessions will be lead in Gamesley two nights per week.
  • Encourage young people to find an activity that they enjoy with their friends and aim to reduce the levels of anti-social behavior in the area.

Name: Ripley Town Council – Off the Brakes
Duration of Grant: 6 months
Funded: £5,000.00

  • To deliver weekly evening sessions called ‘Off the Brakes’ on Monday evenings as a medium-term diversionary programme for young people living in the Ripley Township aged 11-18, who may be at risk of, or who have been committing anti-social behaviour and are at risk of entering the criminal justice system.
  • To provide a range of fun, engaging and creative sessions for a period of 20 weeks, starting in October 2021 on Monday evenings, 6-8pm.

Name: South Normanton Parish Council – ASB Reduction Activities
Duration of Grant: 6 months
Funded: £2,500.00

  • To reduce anti-social behaviour in several hotspots in South Normanton through a multi-agency response between the Parish Council, the Police, Extreme Wheels.
  • These agencies will visit the problem areas identified on a more regular basis and engage positively with those residents considered to be at risk of, or who have been engaging in anti-social behaviour or low-level crime.
  • The Parish Council will continue to work closely with these agencies to help reduce anti-social behavior and to monitor the problem.
  • To use the council’s social media more extensively (Facebook and our website) to promote good behavior and to encourage people to report concerns or incidents to the Police.

Name: Sporting Communities CIC – Derby Youth Provision
Duration of Grant: 12 months
Funded: £5,000.00

  • To pick up ASB referrals from local authorities and ASB teams and act as an early intervention service relating to low level youth ASB in the Normanton area of Derby.
  • To offer flexible positive youth engagement activities as a direct intervention response or provide young people with a voice to help create the services they want in their communities.
  • The project will provide a weekly youth engagement session within Normanton, focussed on developing youth provision and improving community cohesion to reduce levels of anti-social behaviour.

Name: Youth Matters New Mills CIC – ‘Playing Out’ pilot project (High Peak)
Duration of Grant: 6 months
Funded: £5,000.00

  • To include Whitfield in Glossop as part of a wider local pilot project targeting anti-social behaviour in certain parks around the High Peak area.
  • UK Sports Coaching and Being Outdoors forest school will be in attendance in the area for two hours a week engaging young people and the community and looking to develop a youth group.
  • To provide the young people of Whitfield with a programme of activities designed to enable them to learn new skills, make friends, boost self-esteem and improve mental health and confidence.
  • To improve the community’s sense of safety and confidence by reducing levels of ASB in the local area.

Name: Shift – Chapel-en-le-Frith Community Building
Duration of Grant: 12 months
Funded: £5,000.00

  • To act on, and coordinate, the response to a recent community listening exercise in Chapel-en-le-Frith to find out what matters to residents in their parks and open spaces.
  • To take forward suggestions from the community on how to make the community a safer place for everyone. This to include the coordination of activities to be undertaken by community volunteers and to make this sustainable.
  • To bring together a network of partners and coordinate partnership activities which will support the community in a way that is valuable to them.

Name: Aston on Trent Parish Council, Shardlow & Great Wilne Parish Council, Elvaston Parish Council, Weston On Trent Parish Council 
Duration of Grant: 6 months
Funded: £5,000.00

  • To purchase and install CCTV cameras with upload to cloud capability, batteries and housing equipment to protect the local community from continued fly-tipping in agreed locations.
  • To complete Installation of signage for the CCTV .              
  • To establish and publish a CCTV Policy to ensure compliance with GDPR.  To include details of recording/storage and use of data captured.

Name: Belper Early Years Fun
Duration of Grant: 6 months
Funded: £1,200.00

  • To purchase and install CCTV cameras at Belper Early Years Fun Centre to protect from and deter anti-social behaviour.
  • To install anti-vandal paint applied to act as a deterrent.
  • To establish and publish a CCTV Policy to ensure compliance with GDPR.  To include details of recording/storage and use of data captured.

Name: Breadsall Parish Council
Duration of Grant: 6 months
Funded: £2,500.00

  • To purchase and install four night vision CCTV cameras within the vicinity of the children’s play area to protect from and deter anti-social behaviour.
  • To establish and publish a CCTV Policy to ensure compliance with GDPR.  To include details of recording/storage and use of data captured.

Name: Brimington Parish Council
Duration of Grant: 12 months
Funded: £2,500.00

  • To convert the existing CCTV system on the High Street Brimington from a record only system to a fully monitored system.
  • To establish and publish a CCTV Policy to ensure compliance with GDPR.  To include details of recording/storage and use of data captured.

Name: Little Eaton Village Hall
Duration of Grant: 6 months
Funded: £5,000.00

  • To purchase and install 15 camera (8MP) IP CCTV system within the vicinity of the Little Eaton Village Hall to protect from and deter anti-social behaviour.
  • To establish and publish a CCTV Policy to ensure compliance with GDPR.  To include details of recording/storage and use of data captured.

Name: South Normanton Albion FC
Duration of Grant: 12 months
Funded: £4,500.00

  • To purchase and install CCTV cameras at South Normanton Albion FC to protect from and deter anti-social behaviour.
  • To establish and publish a CCTV Policy to ensure compliance with GDPR.  To include details of recording/storage and use of data captured.

  • To purchase and install CCTV cameras at The War Memorial Park to protect from and deter anti-social behaviour.
  • To establish and publish a CCTV Policy to ensure compliance with GDPR.  To include details of recording/storage and use of data captured.

Name: Clowne Parish Council
Duration of Grant: 12 months
Funded: £5,000

  • To purchase and install CCTV cameras at Clowne Parish Council to detect and reduce levels of Anti-Social Behaviour in the area
  • To establish and publish a CCTV Policy to ensure compliance with GDPR. To include details of the appropriate recording, storage and use of data capture
