Anti-Social Behaviour Prevention Grant – Round 3

This grant fund closed on 26th May 2023. 

Each Grant applicant goes through a rigorous due diligence process before the Commissioning Team considers the application. Once the due diligence process has been completed the Commissioning Team judges the application on various fields such as:

  • Summary of proposed project
  • Evidence of need for the project
  • Who will benefit and how the grant will secure, or continue to secure, crime and disorder reduction
  • Evidence of Partnership
  • Track Record of Delivery
  • Exit Strategy
  • Added Value
  • Additional Information
  • Breakdown and Justification of Costs

Once the Commissioning Team has judged the application they will make a recommendation to the Police and Crime Commissioner and their Senior Leadership Team where a decision is then reached.

Name: AFRICAN AND CARIBBEAN COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
Duration of Grant: 12 Months

To inform older members of the community about the ACCA group, how to deal with ASB and take actions to reduce it in the local area through the following:

  • Consider good practice in how to react to ASB in the local area
  • Work with neighbours and the 101 number to report ASB incidents
  • Put in place appropriate diversionary activities for young people
  • Participate in neighbourhood groups to identify incidents of ASB
  • Communicate with others and to report any incidents to the proper agencies

Name: Asian Association Chesterfield

To increase awareness and reduce ASB within the South Asian Community in and around the Chesterfield area by doing the following:

  • To establish a community database with contact details
  • To disseminate information and workshops about what ASB is and how to report it
  • To deliver diversionary and cohesion activities for young people and the wider community
  • To facilitate workshops with PCSOs

  • To deliver music making activities for people who are at risk of offending in disadvantaged areas to enable young people to become responsible individuals who understand the importance of being lawful
  • To deliver sessions focused on the importance of safety, ways to reduce ASB, becoming responsible adults, reducing hate crime- ages 11-18
  • To deliver in the following areas: Sinfin,  Mackworth, Chaddesden, Allenton

  • To install a CCTV system at Scanderlands Recreation Ground in Blackwell and at Charnwood Recreation Ground in Newton to cover the whole of the playing fields and playground areas, and portable CCTV cameras for the Allotments to reduce Anti-Social Behaviour within the vicinity of the site.

  • To install a wildlife camera system in Dale Abbey to reduce Anti-Social Behaviour within the vicinity of the site to prevent fly tipping.

Name: Draycott Parish Council
Duration of Grant: 3 months
Funded: £1000
Intellectual Property Rights Applicable within the Grant Terms and Conditions: 8.2

  • To deliver 10 weekly sessions on Draycott playing fields to target youth in Draycott, including parents and carers but open to all residents.
  • To cover the costs of two qualified staff from AM sports coaching to reduce Anti- Social Behaviour.
  • To provide activities including circuit training, boxing and Zumba to reduce Anti- Social Behaviour.

Name: Dronfield Town Council
Duration of Grant: 7 months

Intellectual Property Rights Applicable within the Grant Terms and Conditions: 8.2

  • To deliver Extreme Wheels roadshows in Singlefinden Park, Dronfield#
  • To provide sessions that will run from April 2023 to October 2023 for a total of 29 weeks / 29 sessions.
  • Extreme Wheels will provide a weekly rotation of activities that will include Skatepark, Laser Tag, Body Zorbing, Drift Trikes, KMX Karts and BMX Sidehacks

Name: Eckington Parish Council
Duration of Grant: 11 Months

  • To install a wildlife camera to reduce Anti-Social Behaviour within the vicinity, the camera will be moved around the parish to areas where problems are occurring.
  • To deliver five Monday sessions in the summer holidays 11am until 2pm – three in Renishaw, two in Eckington.
  • There will be a large range of activities available utilising indoor and outdoor space to include Samba Sports, arts and crafts, children’s entertainers, music workshops, bouncy castle and more. A local bowling club have agreed to teach the families how to play bowls and have a mini competition. Food at each event always includes fruit and vegetables.

  • To build and launch the therapeutic web app for traumatised care-experienced children and their foster/adoptive families
  • To create a physical tool kit and therapeutic 10 step journey, accessed via an app, that helps a trusted caregiver support their child to heal from trauma
  • To provide an app that will be multi-sensory, neurologically informed and full of engaging activities

  • To purchase a goal unit, basketball hoop and crick stumps for older children and teenagers and provide diversion to ASB

Old Farm bus sessions on a Tuesday evening, Elms estate Ripley to include the following activities:

  • Games Bus, Crafts, Football, Dungeons & Dragons, Poetry, Rap /Hip-hop, Hula hooping, Art, Beat Boxing, DJing, Graffiti, Music production, Singing, Film making, Aerial arts, drums, Cooking
  • To aim to increase the sense of inclusion, purpose and achievement of service users by having tried something they have never done before.
  • To aim to change service users’ attitude in a positive way towards their own belongings and therefore those of other people
  • To help service users to develop an interest in something they never thought they would have access to.

  • To facilitate a Thursday club for ages 11-14
  • The club will run for 43 x 1 hour sessions to include boxing and circuit training

The Resilience Recovery Relief project will tackle the inequity to participation that marginalised communities face when accessing timely and effective mental health. Deliverables include:

  • To provide 1:1 support for young people and their families from ethnic minority backgrounds and who have participated in ASB and peer related violence.
  • We aim to provide a culturally responsive service that considers the role of cultural, mental health and psychological factors on antisocial behaviour, and work with our service users and their families to identify the root cause of their actions and replace them with healthier coping mechanisms.
  • Each week will cover the following topics: Psychoeducation, Cognitive Restructuring, Social Skills Training, Emotional Regulation, Problem Solving, Overall programme evaluation and assessment

Name: Thomas Theyer Foundation
Duration of Grant: 12 Months

  • To provide 70 counselling sessions for CYP with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Difficult life circumstances (DLC)

Name: Wirksworth Town Council

  • To install a CCTV system on the public toilet building in Barmote Croft, Wirksworth to reduce Anti-Social Behaviour within the vicinity of the site

Name: Youth Matters
Duration of Grant: 5 Months
Funded: £4946
Intellectual Property Rights Applicable within the Grant Terms and Conditions: 8.2

  • To run 16 sessions during which 28 young people caught up in a circle of ASB will set up and review individual goals
  • Each of the 16 sessions will begin with setting up/reviewing goals that each young person has set for themselves with the mentor, followed by an hour of boxing related training with the coach.
  • Participants will be individually seen by the mentor to see if any issues are arising and if anything needs further support
  • Post-sessions, the Mentor and Coach will decide if any further needs require an onward referral to other supporting agencies, family, or school.
