We are asking Derbyshire residents to air their views about local policing in a series of public consultation events so that we can find out what local people think about policing and the broader crime agenda. This initiative replaces the 'Have Your Say' consultation as the County's largest annual feedback scheme and will invite local people to take part in a survey about policing. Commissioner Charles introduces the 2015 'Over to You' Survey below:
A series of events were held during 2015 to promote the questionnaire and help Commissioner Charles understand the differing needs of Derbyshire’s diverse communities. The information will be used to guide the Commissioner’s plans to make the County safer and help the Force allocate resources to where they are needed most.
The first ‘Over to You’ event took place on Friday 27th March 2015 at Ripley and Heanor marketplaces and was closely followed by similar activities in supermarkets and shopping centres across Derbyshire. Commissioner Charles also asked for support from key community groups such as Neighbourhood Watch and 50+ Forums to encourage residents to take part in the survey.
The 2015 ‘Over to You’ programme ran from March to September. A key element of the consultation events was to provide crime prevention advice to residents to help them protect themselves and their property from crime. View the schedule for the 2015 campaign.
The headline results were presented to the Strategic Governance Board on Monday 14th December 2015. The full report has been published below.
