As I promised last week, following a number of questions about local policing and the custody arrangements in the High Peak, I have arranged a Public Meeting in Buxton on 10 April.
I want to give people the opportunity to ask questions about the things that concern them, which should clear up some of the misunderstandings that have been circulated on various platforms.
Venue: Buxton Methodist Church, Chapel Street, BUXTON, SK17 6HX
Time: 2.30pm
The Deputy Chief Constable and I, accompanied by the local Police Inspector, will be pleased to answer your questions about policing in the High Peak and, yes, the closure of Buxton Custody Suite. It is important that people hear the facts first hand, not the rumour three times removed.
For those that can’t make the meeting, and it is virtually impossible to find a time that suits everyone, we have set up a live question facility on Slido (www.slido.com event code #HighPeak). This means that anyone can email their questions in advance which we will endeavour to deal with at the meeting, time permitting, or will provide a published response to later.
These responses will then be available on the website and can be posted on Facebook pages and other social media if people wish.
Talking of social media, it is an important part of our communications toolbox. But I should make it clear that it is not the only tool in the box and if anyone wishes to contact me it would be more direct to telephone 0300 122 6000 or email PCCOffice@Derbyshire.PNN.Police.UK
We are publicising this meeting via traditional and social media. Please feel free to share.
I hope to see you there.
