Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner Hardyal Dhindsa will be joined by police and community safety partners for the launch of a countywide alcohol awareness campaign to encourage responsible drinking.
‘Intoxicated’ will be unveiled in Chesterfield on Friday 17 November to coincide with national Alcohol Awareness Week, which runs from 13 to 19 November.
The campaign has been backed by more than 100 licensed venues across Derbyshire and aims to prevent incidents of alcohol-fuelled violence, disorder and sexual assault by blocking the sale of alcohol to those already intoxicated.
Among the action being rolled out through the campaign is training for bar staff on the law, a no-entry approach by door supervisors for intoxicated guests, refresher training for police officers and safer drinking awareness for revellers.
In addition to a branded advertising campaign featuring in entertainment venues and on staff uniforms, ‘Intoxicated’ will also be launched across social media platforms.
