Derbyshire launches search for fresh talent

Neatly marking one year in post for the Police and Crime Commissioner, Derbyshire Police has launched a fresh recruitment drive which will see up to 150 new police officers deployed across the county.

Applications are being invited from hardworking and passionate self-starters who are looking for a challenging and rewarding career protecting Derbyshire and its residents.

Derbyshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Hardyal Dhindsa is hopeful the Force’s latest recruitment drive will attract candidates from all backgrounds and minority communities in his bid to achieve a more representative workforce.

The Commissioner is strongly committed to building a diverse police force which fully represents all of the communities it serves and is keen to reach out to groups currently underrepresented within the force.

“It’s exciting to be recruiting again and strengthening our frontline at a time when a number of new threats are emerging within our communities,” said Mr Dhindsa.

“We’re working very hard to ensure Derbyshire Police fully represents the communities it serves by addressing any imbalances in our workforce. This remains a priority for me and now that I’ve been in office a year I will be looking at what more can be done to achieve this.

“Derbyshire Police is a fantastic, innovative place to work. We recognise that it is our people who make us great and we are looking for the next generation of police officers who can match our success and ambitions with strength and fortitude.”
