Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire, Hardyal Dhindsa, helped to promote community safety at a special Action Day in Ripley Market Place earlier this week.
The event was being staged by Amber Valley Borough Council and Derbyshire Constabulary, Futures Homescape and the Fire and Rescue Service.
Mr Dhindsa said: “This was a good opportunity for shoppers and members of the public in general to raise any safety concerns they might have in their communities. It’s very important for us to hear their views so that we can act upon them.”
Residents will also be invited to provide valuable feedback through the Force’s victim surveys. Information leaflets regarding community safety issues and crime prevention matters will be available during the day both from the event’s stall at the market place and in local supermarkets.
