Derbyshire Stands Together with GMP
Derbyshire Constabulary and the Police and Crime Commissioner are supporting a national initiative launched by Greater Manchester Police which promotes community cohesion and unity, celebrates diversity and makes a stand against hatred and intolerance.
The ‘We Stand Together’ campaign, which has been created in the wake of recent significant acts of intolerance and hatred globally, aims to demonstrate:
- The vast majority of people in the UK show respect and care towards others and that, in general, communities in the UK are well integrated and tolerant;
- An attack on one community is an attack on all communities and people in the UK won’t be divided by any form of hate or terrorism;
- The strength of diversity and the positive contributions it has made to the UK.
The aim of the campaign is to get as many people, community groups and organisations to pledge a message of support illustrating the commitment to Diversity.
Messages posted in support of the campaign on social media can be found on the #WeStandTogether hashtag.
Derbyshire Constabulary and the Police and Crime Commissioner encourages anyone to report hate crime of any kind using the 999 or 101 services, to CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111 or through Stop Hate UK on 0800 138 1625.
