Visitors to the 184th Bakewell Show, on the 6th and 7th of August will have the opportunity to give their views on policing, community safety and quality of life issues to the Commissioner, his Deputy and other members of the PCC’s team as part of the county wide consultation programme Over to You.
The Force will be highlighting work that takes place on a local level with communities and its policing commitment across the county. The local Safer Neighbourhood Team will be joined by representatives from the Uniformed Task Force, Roads Policing Unit, Neighbourhood Watch and the award-winning Ozbox.
The Over to You initiative replaces ‘Have Your Say’ consultation as the County’s largest annual public feedback scheme and invites local people to take part in a survey about policing. Views can be given face to face to a member of the Commissioner’s team or via an online survey on the website – http://www.derbyshire-pcc.gov.uk/Get-Involved/Consultation-and-Community-Engagement/Over-to-You/Over-to-You.aspx
Commissioner Charles said: “I want to hear from local people about the issues that impact on their quality of life whether this is anti-social behaviour, parking, speeding motorists, dog fouling or alcohol and drug related issues for example, to more serious areas of criminality such as burglary and violence. Then we will work with our partners to address the problems that cause most concern.
“As a result of the responses to last year’s consultation I’ve made changes to my Police and Crime Plan to reflect the views expressed by Derbyshire residents.
Gates open at Bakewell Showground from 8.30am and each day includes a full programme of activities for all ages and tastes including performances by an International motorcycle stunt team, Titan the Robot, Madame Zucchini and many more. Alternatively, relax on the beach after sampling the wares of the show’s 25th anniversary Food and Farming section.
