Police and Crime Commissioner Alan Charles and Chief Constable Mick Creedon will consider police performance, safeguarding children and adults, as well as options for a joint police and fire service headquarters at a meeting at Police Headquarters at Ripley on Monday, 14 April at 2.00pm.
Members of the public are welcome to attend the Strategic Governance Board (SGB) meeting, posing questions if they wish during the first 30 minutes. Those who wish to ask a question but are unable to attend can post their questions via Twitter using #askSGB in the question, or by email to the chief executive (firstname.lastname@example.org). Although specific cases are not able to be discussed in the meeting, they are followed up by senior representatives from the Force.
Agenda and papers for the meeting can be found at http://www.derbyshire-pcc.gov.uk/News-and-Events-Meetings/Meeting-Information/Strategic-Governance-Board-Schedule-of-Meetings-2014.aspx. Key items on the Agenda will include performance, contact management (call handling), confidence and satisfaction.
SGB meetings provide a regular opportunity for the Commissioner to publicly scrutinise Police performance, with in-depth reports on different areas of work at each meeting. Regular items include finance and resources and areas such as Professional Standards, plus the contact management centre, engagement with the public and the decisions of the Commissioner.
Alan Charles said: “Members of public attending these meetings can see for themselves the scrutiny applied to all areas of police performance, enabling any fluctuations in performance to be identified at an early stage. If they can’t attend, people can get involved in this process simply by asking questions.”
