From April 2013, a number of community safety-related funding streams transfer to the Police and Crime Commissioner, allowing him to make small grants and to commission services to help him meet his aims and objectives. This budget will allow him to commission community safety services in addition to the main police grant and precept.
The Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 provides powers for the Police and Crime Commissioner to award grants to any organisation or body he considers will support the community safety priorities such as tackling drugs and crime, reducing re-offending and improving community safety.
Please keep visiting this page as details will follow on how to apply for these grants.
