Listening To You

As your elected representative, it is critical that I understand your needs and expectations for those areas of policing, community safety and victims services for which I am responsible.

I want to understand your views and your priorities for policing so that I, along with the Chief Constable, can try and balance your concerns and the risks and threats already identified with the total resources available for policing.

 Listening to You

Commissioner Dhindsa consulting with a member of the public

To this end, I have  launched my public engagement and consultation programme    “Listening to You”  and as part of this, I and my team will be travelling the length and breadth of the county asking you, the residents of Derbyshire to air your views about local policing issues in a series of ongoing public events.

My “listening to you” public safety survey is the county’s largest policing questionnaire and is your opportunity to influence the local police service.

So, if you have something to say about policing and the broader crime agenda, don’t sit in silence – come and share your views. I’m here to listen and I want to help, but I need to know what the problems are to enable me to help find solutions.

No matter where in Derbyshire you live, your views are important to me. I am Commissioner for the whole of Derbyshire and whether you live in an urban, suburban or rural area your views matter and I want to hear them.

In order to let me do this,I have pledged to try and visit all 383 towns and villages in Derbyshire during my term of office. You can follow my progress with this by using the hashtag #D383.

I look forward to meeting you and hearing your views and “together we can make a difference” to ensure that Derbyshire remains one of the safest places in the UK.
